Reformation Sunday Service – Welcome

God’s blessings to all! St John Evangelical Lutheran church in Meyersville would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to join us this Sunday to celebrate Reformation Sunday. We have a special guest this Sunday, Pastor Eric Riesen, North American Lutheran Seminary President. Pastor Riesen has served as a parish pastor for 34 years and took the position as the second NALC Seminary President in February of this year. We would enjoy having you visit with and hear Pastor Riesen at our 9:00AM Sunday school gathering and at 10:15AM Sunday morning service. As always the service will be broadcast “in the parking lot” for those wishing to hear the service but uncomfortable with worshiping in the church. The Sunday service will also be recorded and a link to the Facebook page will be posted here on our webpage later Sunday. We pray you can join us to hear from Pastor Riesen about the work of the Seminary and this important mission of our Church!

20th Sunday of Pentecost Service

Blessings to all! Well some cooler weather in Meyersville this week. We experienced our one day of fall as a front pushed through, but as soon as it passed the temps began to climb. But it is a more pleasant temperature in the 80s and lower 90s. Hope this morning finds you well and if you weren’t able to worship at your church or you are looking for a new church home we hope our recording might enhance your Sunday worship. Below is the link for the service. Sorry pipe organ fans due to a technical difficulty we missed the organ Prelude and postlude. Just FYI next Sunday we will have a guest speaker for the Sunday school hour and our service. Rev Eric Resien, President of the North American Lutheran Seminary, will be with us. Pastor Resien was a parish pastor for 34 years and is the author of  The Christian Faith: A Catechism for the Curious. Hope you can come to worship with us, but if not we will have the service and message from Pastor Resien posted again next week. Have an awesome week. Hug the loved ones you can and pray for those that remain at a distance. Be safe everyone.

Good day and Blessings to All! A special service this morning titled “Remembered Women of the Lutheran Church” with presentations by some “Memorable Women of Our Lutheran Church” here at St John Evangelical Lutheran, Meyersville, Texas. The links below include the Organ Prelude, the Service – Part A with the presentations of Mary Magdalene by Kathy Dunn, Florence Nightingale by Beverly Bodden, Claire Louise Maass portrayed by Trish Hood, and Catherine Winkworth portrayed by Cathy Bettge. Also the message by Pastor John Boor asks the question “Are you or have you accepted your Calling from our Lord” similar to these women of faith honored in our service today. Part B includes the remainder of the service and the doxology.

17th Sunday of Pentecost Service

Good Day to All! First I apologize for the numerous technical difficulties on the recording of this mornings service. The devil had his “gremlins” working overtime with our sound system this morning so during trying to resolve the audio issues the video didn’t always keep up. We will try to get those cleared up before next weeks service. Below are the links for this mornings service and organ prelude.

I would like to give a “shoutout” to all who helped bring about an awesome prayer, praise scriptural message yesterday at the Cuero Park Pavilion. The “If My People”  service was well organized, uplifting but also definitely a “Call to Action” to Christians of all denominations to step up and accept responsibility of our role as being the “Hands & Feet of Christ.” Our Lord and Savior gave all for each of us, how can we sit by and as Followers of Christ, do anything less.
